Churchill War Rooms

Once Winston Churchill’s private bunker during the Second World War, the Churchill War Rooms showcase the life and legacy of the late Prime Minister.

Visit the Cabinet War Rooms to learn more about Churchill’s life in the underground bunker, with exhibits ranging from war cabinet meeting notes to war maps. Everything remained exactly as it was left on the day the lights were switched off in 1945. Though a recommended visit within the galleries would take around 90 minutes, an immersive visit at your own pace can take up to half a day.

Audio guides are available and are included in the admission price.
The opening hours are 09:30 to 18:00 daily, including bank holidays, but are unfortunately closed on the Christmas holidays (December 24th, 25th and 26th).
The Churchill War Rooms is situated near attractions such as Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, and the Buckingham Palace. To get there, travel by Tube to Westminster via the Jubilee or District and Circle line.
