Hamley’s

Founded by William Hamley in 1760 and moved to Regent Street in 1881, Hamley’s is one of the world’s best-known toy retailers. It was so successful that it received two Royal Warrants from Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth II in 1938 and 1955 respectively. Hamley’s continued to operate when London was bombed during the second World War.

Today, Hamley’s is a prominent tourist attraction favourited by all ages. A diverse array of toys, figurines, novelty gifts from franchises such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings can be found in this multi-level shop. During Christmas time, it organises the world’s largest toy parade on Regent Street (Event starts at 10:30).

Hamley’s is open 10:00 to 21:00 on Mondays to Fridays, 9:30 to 21:00 on Saturdays, and 12:00 to 18:00 on Sundays. Store tours are available for online booking for visitors with children (minimum 4 guests; maximum 10 guests). The charge of 40 GBP per person includes a tour, exclusive cake and a gift bag for each child.
