Oxford Street

Oxford Street is the main shopping street in London. Popular chain stores of different price points line the street, ranging from affordable to luxury brands.

Being a hub of different brands, Oxford Street houses at least five different chain department stores (including Selfridges, Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser). It is also home to the campus of UAL London College of Fashion.
There are plenty of visitors during holidays and around Christmas. It is best to visit during day time on weekdays if you want to avoid crowds. Traffic can be hectic so pay attention when crossing the roads. As it is a touristy area, scams are prevalent, be careful of people who would give you a small token or gift in exchange for a ‘donation’.

Oxford Street is surrounded by other famous London attractions, such as Hyde Park.

Shops on Oxford Street are open 09:30 to 21:00 Monday to Wednesday, 09:30-22:00 on Thursdays, 09:00 to 21:00 pm on Fridays, 09:00 to 21:00 pm on Saturdays, and 11:30 to 18:00 on Sundays. As shops are plenty, hours may vary by individual stores.

To get here, travel to Oxford Circus Station by Tube, via Bakerloo, Central or Victoria line.
